Privacy policy

What we hold

• Your account — name, email address, a hashed password, and the events you belong to.
• Players a commissioner adds — name, and an email or phone number if one is entered so a scoring link can be sent.
• Golf — scores, handicap indexes and differentials, courses and tees, games, pots and payouts.
• Technical — sign-in tokens, device push registrations if you enable notifications, and server logs holding IP address and timestamps for security and debugging.

We do not collect precise location. Course weather is looked up from the course's coordinate, not from your device.

If you were added by someone else

A commissioner can add you to an event by name, with a contact detail so a scoring link can be texted or emailed to you. You can ask them to remove you, or write to us and we will remove your contact details from that event.

Public boards and career pages

If your commissioner publishes a board, your name, scores, standing and winnings on that event are visible to anyone with the address. A player career page has its own unguessable address, carries no money figures and no other player's name, and is marked so search engines do not index it.

Who else touches it

We use a small number of providers to run the service: hosting and content delivery, a database host, an email and text delivery service, a payment processor for purchases, a weather data provider, and a text-generation provider used to write round recaps. They process data on our instructions only. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising.

Cookies and tracking

This marketing site sets no cookies, makes no third-party requests, and runs no analytics — the fonts it uses are served from this site rather than a font CDN for exactly that reason. Live Links Golf itself stores a sign-in token and your display preferences on your own device; those are needed for it to work and are not used to track you elsewhere.

How long, and how it's kept

Event and scoring data is kept while the account exists, so standings and career records hold up over seasons. Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to what running the service requires, and backups are held for a limited period before being destroyed.

Your choices

You can see and correct your details in the app, turn notifications off, ask for a copy of your data, or delete your account outright — see deleting your account. Depending on where you live you may have further rights over access, correction, deletion and portability; write to us and we will honour them.

Children

Accounts are for people 13 and over. A younger player can be scored by a commissioner as a named player without holding an account.
